The 2026 ALSAME scholarship application is open!
ALSAME seeks applications from high school seniors who have demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting their community. If you are one of these individuals, we hope you will continue your efforts in sharing ALSAME’s value and mission. Please consider applying for our scholarships.
The ALSAME Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to recognize and support students who have indicated an interest in advancing their education and reflect ALSAME’s mission and values. The award amount varies each year. The scholarship is open to all Michigan high school students who will be enrolled in a Michigan institution (public/private/trade) fall 2026.
This scholarship is not tuition-restricted. In addition, the recipient agrees that ALSAME can use their name and likeness for future promotional publications to encourage students to apply for future scholarships.
Important information from the Scholarship Committee:
- If recommenders wish to submit their letter’s directly to the committee, please email them to scholarships@alsame.org
- Regarding the use of AI for personal statements: The Scholarship Review Committee is comprised of various professionals in higher education with years of experience reviewing scholarships. They encourage all students to share their stories through the application so that they can make a more informed and holistic decision when reviewing applications. They also highly recommend not using AI generated materials for the applications as it would not demonstrate the level of integrity that is essential to succeed in higher education.
One-time amount range: Between $500 – $3,000
Criteria:
- Be a current high school senior at time of application
- Have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0
- On track to graduate from a high school in Michigan in 2026
- Must enroll at a higher education institution in Michigan (public/private/trade)
- Reflect ALSAME’s mission/values
Requirements (to be uploaded in the application):
- Official high school transcript
- Personal Statement (prompt in application)
- 1 Letter of Recommendation
*Scholars who are awarded must submit proof of enrollment by early July 2026. Awards will be mailed out by end of July/early August.
